Microsoft, Surface

As if the Surface Pro wasn’t enough, Microsoft has gone yet another step further and taken portable PCs to a whole new level. While the Surface Pro faced a lot of competition from similar devices like Apple’s iPad Pro and Google’s Pixel C, the new tablet-laptop hybrid, the Redmond giant has announced today, can smash all the aforementioned devices in the blink of an eye.

While, cosmetically, you might see a lot of changes on the latest integration of the Surface, it’s what’s inside that actually matters for most people. The new Surface is significantly thinner and lighter than its predecessor and also takes the performance bar to the next level.

The device has been built over an Intel Skylake processor which is in fact a 6th-gen processor from the manufacturer. The device also boosts 16 GB of memory for your multitasking and can go way up to 1 TB of internal storage.

You get a fingerprint sensor on the keyboard too!

The display is a 12.3-inch one but the overall size of the device is roughly the same as that of its predecessor which boasted a 12-inch screen. Other features include Cortana integration. The new Surface Pro 4 will also be compatible with existing keyboard accessories as the size has not changed.

Another excellent addition to the Surface Pro 4 is the all-new Surface Pen. This new stylus magnetically attaches itself to the device when not in use and also has an eraser on its other end. You can also activate Microsoft’s digital voice assistant through the button on the Pen. The stylus will also be available in a variety of colours and has 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity.

In more ways than one, the Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft is better than most of the portable computers out in the market today. If you are interested in taming this beast, it will cost you nothing short of $899 and will be available from October 26th.
