Moto M, Lenovo, Moto X

Update: The Moto Maker site has gone live for the Indian users. You can access it from here.  Happy customising!

Motorola has dropped hints on its Twitter handle that Indians might get a chance to experience Moto Maker, it’s online customisation tool for devices like Moto X and Moto 360 by June 15 (that’s today). It is expected to be released alongside the much-awaited Moto X 2015 edition.

The Moto Maker, released three years back, created quite a stir with its hardware customisation options, something that was never-seen-before. Initially, the company had offered users to tinker with close to 2,000 combinations of color, specifications, texture, storage capacity and engravement.

On Sunday, Motorola India posted a cryptic message on Twitter: “One of a kind begets one of a kind. You are going to love this one. Watch this space to find out!” But the second tweet gave a better idea of what the Indian fans were in for. “Artistry is as artistry does. Fancy doing something to show off your arty side? Find out how on the 15th of June” — which came with the graphic poster showing scissors, colour papers, crayons, colour pencils.

Although the global roll out of the service has been slower than it should be, the timing seems perfectly right for an India launch. Motorola is steadily growing in terms of sales volumes with respect to it’s devices in various price brackets.

Since today is the 15th, I guess we won’t have to wait longer to find out what Motorola has up their sleeve.
