Google has made a significant addition to its VR team. The company has taken up the services of SoundStage developer Logan Olson, who was inducted into the company this week. Olson is very well known for having developed SoundStage, a popular title that is available for the HTC Vive platform.

Olson will be working along with a highly adept team that is headed by Clay Bavor.  The team’s efforts include working on the daydream platform, that became a point of focus for Google, following Google cardboard’s success.

Speaking with The Verge, Google said:

We’re excited to welcome Logan to the Google VR team. As a leader in thinking about creating in VR with his app SoundStage, we’re really inspired by what he’s built and for the potential for VR and creativity.

Olson’s chief project, and one which gained him much laurels, is SoundStage. The software allowed you to operate a music studio in the virtual space around you. Initially available on the HTC Vive headset and wireless controllers, it came out of early access mode only last month and consequently launched on Oculus Rift as well. With Olson joining Google though, SoundStage will be going into, and will remain in maintenance mode. Olson’s past work will now be used to aid in the development of Google’s own offerings.

Let’s hope the newest employee manages to speed up the work. After all, Google has been relatively quite on the Daydream front of late.
