Hotel aggregator Treebo today announced that it has appointed former Opinio COO Abhishek Sharma as a member of its Founders’ Office. Abhishek will play a vital role working closely with Co-founders Rahul Chaudhary, Sidharth Gupta, and Kadam Jeet Jain. The latest hiring hints towards Treebo’s aggressive team-building plans. Moreover, the hotel aggregator’s move indicates towards strengthening its position in the market.
Commenting on the said appointment, Abhishek Sharma delightfully said,
Treebo is plugging a significant gap in the Indian market by organising the massively unorganised budget accommodation space, while also ensuring that customer experience goes beyond just clean rooms and affordability. I look forward to working with the team in building brand Treebo further, and delivering with greater precision on our promise of offering top-quality stays to our consumers.
Founder’s office for Treebo is a diverse cadre specifically designed to stimulate strategic priorities for the business. The cell works on term experiments and projects for fruitful results. Sharma as a part of the cell will be responsible for working on key cross-functional initiatives for the company. The setup is similar to Founder’s offices at startups like Myntra and InMobi. The Founder’s office is mainly focused on carrying out leadership skills throughout the organisation.
Prior work experience for the latter includes product building, development, and P&L for the scheduled logistics business at Opinio. Under the same venture, Sharma has served as the chief operating officer. The entrepreneur has also worked with consulting companies like Accenture and O3 capital.
Rahul Chaudhary, Co-founder, Treebo Hotels said,
We are excited to onboard Abhishek into the leadership team; his diverse experience across consulting and operations roles, and his own entrepreneurial stint will together prove valuable in driving some of our strategic priorities. We felt we could benefit from it (Founder’s office) and decided to create this role at Treebo.
