Softback-backed digital payments upstart, Paytm is leaving no stone unturned to maximize its popularity in the market. As per the latest reports, Paytm has now joined hands with Twitter to imbibe Twitter Highlights on its app. This is basically done with the intent to keep the viewers engaged with the app, even when they are not doing payment related activity.
As per Siddharth Pandey, Vice President for Paytm, the app will be assimilating news, astrology and other trending contents of Twitter into the Paytm inbox, to ensure that the users keep coming to the app.
He said; “Consumers will be able to check different issues that are trending on Twitter, news, events and others; once they click on a specific element, it will take them to a web view of the link.”
The Noida based payments giant has already tasted huge success in streams like eCommerce, mobile and DTH recharge, movie and event booking, bill payments, travel among others, all of which included in the same website. The association with Twitter is likely to enhance the apps popularity in the Indian marketplace, where it already weighs a whooping $10 billion.
