After releasing its iconic Nokia 3310 refresh in India last month, HMD Global is today putting an end to the wait of thousands, or most likely millions, of the country’s netizens with the release of the entire Nokia-branded Android smartphone line-up. Yes, take a seat if you’re not because Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 has officially been launched in the country. It will exclusively be available on Amazon India, with different pre-order dates.
Nokia 3
This is the most economical device of the bunch and includes a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display within the polycarbonate body of the device. Nokia 3 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT 6737 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via a MicroSD card.
It brings along an 8-megapixel rear-end shooter and the same 8-megapixel camera is also present on the front. Nokia 3 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with OTG support and 4G LTE. It includes no fingerprint sensor and packs a decent 2,650 mAh battery.
Nokia 5
This is the middle-segment device that’ll compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note series. The Nokia 5 sports a 5.2 inch HD IPS screen, and this one too runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box. With an option of 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, the device will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor. It includes a 13-megapixel rear shooter and an 8-megapixel front camera. It has been built using aluminium 6000 series and features smooth, rounded edges, packing a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery
Nokia 6
This was the first Android smartphone released by HMD Global, first in China. The said Nokia-branded device managed to sell out lakhs of devices in their first flash sale. It is the most specced-out device of the trio and packs a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor.
While it comes in two options — 3GB and 4GB RAM and 32GB and 64GB internal storage, the netizens have been treated with just the 3GB+32GB variant. Both the variants can have additional storage up to 128GB via a microSD card. The 16 MP rear shooter has PDAF feature and an 8MP snapper with an f/2.0 aperture at the front. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. It also includes a fingerprint sensor in the home button, dual stereo speakers, and all major connectivity options.
The Nokia-branded device lineup starts at just ₹9,499, which is a decent price for a sturdy and powerful device. And the nostalgia attached to the said brand and its competitive pricing will push Indians to pick the Finnish smartphone brand over rapidly scaling Chinese hardware giants.
Being the cheapest of the three, the low-end Nokia 3 has been priced at ₹9,499 and will be available exclusively via offline retail as well online from June 16. The Nokia 5, which is a middle-segment device, will cost you ₹12,899 and available for pre-booking that kick-starts on July 7 through offline channels. The Nokia 6, on the other hand, is the high-end variant and will require you to shell out ₹14,999, but only after July 14. Amazon Prime subscribers will be waived off ₹1,000 if they complete orders via Amazon Pay.
