We in the tech industry love these sort of accidents. Accidents which get companies into releasing details about their upcoming products well in advance of their actual due date. Take this video uploaded to Vimeo for example. It shows two brand new, unannounced Nokia-branded smartphones in their full glory.

In case you are worrying about the video’s authenticity, well, it was first posted by a Nokia brand photographer who now works with HMD. The first to spot the video was none other than noted leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) who tweeted about it soon thereafter.

He was also kind enough to mirror the video to Twitter, in anticipation of it being pulled soon thereafter.

Coming back to what is visible in the video: HMD currently has three Nokia branded smartphones in the market. The video above shows four. So that is one smartphone that most certainly is a new, unannounced model. What is more, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 are present in the video but Nokia 7 clearly is not. Which means that there are not one, but two new smartphones sitting somewhere waiting to come out into the sun.

One of the devices even sports a dual camera, which suggests that it could be the long awaited Nokia 9. However, we have no way of being certain at this point. We are similarly clueles about the other device but it stands to reason that it could be Nokia 7 or 8.

Considering that HMD has promised up to seven smartphones this year, and the fact that the video was quickly pulled from Vimeo, it stands to reason that these devices are actual pieces of hardware and the video was probably part of a teaser that HMD was hoping to push out at a later date — before this accident happened and messed things up.

And as Evan Blass later notes:

aaaaand it’s gone. I swear, it’s like companies don’t realize that pulling the content totally validates its authenticity.
