One of the most highly anticipated announcements for the Mobile World Congress — the reboot of Nokia’s 3310 mobile phone, just got even better. With just a few hours to go for the MWC kick-off, new details are coming up regarding the Nokia 3310.

As per the latest available information, the Nokia 3310 mobile phone will be running Series 30+ user interface. The leak further adds that the phone will have a colour screen, unlike the monochrome screen on the original model.

The new Nokia 3310 is also expected to be available in a range of new colour options, including red, green and yellow. Further, it is said that the phone will be slimmer and lighter than the original.

Nokia 3310 was originally launched in the year 2000. It is known for having many features that were rare for the time, including many utilities, such as a calculator, Nokia network monitor, stop watch and a reminder function.

The leaked pricing of the phone suggest that it might come at just €59 (approx. Rs 4,200). The low price hints an increase in competition in future as the renowned market leader is back.

Just to make it clear, the phone won’t run Android, unlike the other handsets that HMD Global (which owns the rights to the Nokia brand) is planning to unveil at MWC 2017 this weekend. This will be the second feature phone from Nokia after its comeback in the mobile market.

Apart from Nokia 3310, Nokia is going to launch other devices namely Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. While the Nokia 5 is said to be priced at €199 (Rs 14,000 approx), Nokia 3 will come handy at just €149 (Rs 11,000 approx).

Another smartphone that is expected to be announced at MWC is the Nokia 8. It recently got leaked through a listing on Chinese online retailer JD.com, with pricing of CNY 3188 (approx Rs 31,880). The Nokia 8 is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor. It will sport a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, a 24-megapixel rear camera with OIS alongside a 12-megapixel front camera.

Nokia’s (HMD Global) Mobile World Congress 2017 event is set to begin at 4:30 pm CET (9:00 pm IST) on Sunday.
