As expected, Lenovo-owned Motorola has today launched its latest smartphone in the Indian market — Moto M. With price starting at Rs. 15,999, the Moto M will go on sale from 14th December, exclusively through online retailer Flipkart. With such pricing, the phone sits between company’s Moto G4 Plus and Moto Z Play smartphones.

This is the first smartphone from the company to come with an all-metal unibody design. While it has a metal body, the company has ditched the dust and splash resistant capabilities on the phone, which is present in all other Motorola smartphones in this range.

The Moto M features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core MediaTek Helio P15 processor under the hood. The phone supports expansion of storage using microSD card, up to 128GB.

The phone is available in two variants, based on its memory. The base model has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal store, while the other model has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Dual SIM smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

On the imaging front, the device has a 16-megapixel rear camera with Phase-Detection Autofocus (PDAF), and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the phone include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C (USB 3.1), NFC, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The device is powered by a 3050mAh battery which also supports fast-charging technology. The smartphone measures 151.35 x 75.35 x 7.85 mm and weighs 163 grams. The Moto M also adds a fingerprint sensor on the back, underneath the camera and Dolby Atmos support.

The 3GB RAM variant of Moto M is priced at Rs. 15,999 while the 4GB RAM model costs Rs. 17,999. The company is also offering Rs. 1,000 discount on Citibank and Rs. 2,000 off on exchange of an old smartphone. Additionally, there is also Rs. 1,000 discount on the Moto Pulse 2 headphones for Moto M buyers.
