After the first instalment, all we can do at this point is remain hopeful that Red Dead Redemption 2 will actually be released on both the PC platform as well as consoles. Considering the fact that there have been a few million requests in petitions that requested for the PC version of the masterpiece of a game.

That being stated, a PC version of the original Red Dead Redemption remains a far-off and unlikely dream. Unless you’re more than willing to weigh in with Sony’s on-demand service.

A couple days ago, Rockstar officially made the announcement that the original PS3 version of the Red Dead Redemption game will make its debut on PlayStation Now on December 6, just next week. And that means it will also be playable, after a fashion, on the PC.

PlayStation Now is Sony’s official monthly or yearly subscription-based video game streaming service that provides access to above 450 PS3 titles, without requiring to actually purchase them. More significant to us, since the service was launched on PC just earlier this summer. It makes available games that were, till now, PlayStation exclusives to our platform of choice.

Now, I understand that it’s not exactly the perfect solution you have been hoping for. But it’s something. Also, not everybody has the required internet bandwidth to run PlayStation Now on their system effectively. And Red Dead Redemption is, and will in the best of cases looks like, a genuine six-year-old classic title. Feels like yesterday doesn’t it? But we beggars cannot be choosers, and for now this is the only option we’ve got.

I gave PlayStation Now a proper shot immediately after the PC service went public, and despite a few minor hitches it seemed to work pretty well overall. Sony offers free a seven-day trial of their PlayStation Now service so you can see how it all works for you, after which it will be costing you $20 a month, or $45 for three whole months(which obviously is the better offer).
