Do you wish you could ride a BMW to your friend’s birthday party and impress the heck out of everybody!? Well, Ola has today decided to grant your wish and that too in an utmost definitive style. The ride-hailing giant has today announced a strategic partnership with German car manufacturer BMW to tap into and redefine the on-demand mobility market in India.

This agreement with Ola will now regard BMW as an exclusive ‘Lux Category Partner’ and allow commuters to book a luxurious ride at just the tap of a button. For those unaware, Ola offers a one-of-its-kind luxury cab category on its shared mobility application called ‘Ola Lux’. This service allows customers to enjoy an unmatched experience of traveling in a premium automobile, currently only in top-tier cities including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The BMW will be available to book at a minimum fare of Rs. 250 and Rs. 20-22/km. The company plans to extend its services to other major locations in near future

Commenting on the same, Mr. Frank Schloeder, President at BMW Group India said,

At BMW, we always look to the future. Individuals want quick access to mobility without compromising on quality and comfort. We are confident that this association will be a game changer in the premium on-demand mobility segment in India.

BMW is the most aspirational luxury car brand and through this association, an increasing number of customers will be able to relish the immersive BMW experience.

But, how will the drivers in India be able to not only afford to purchase a brand-spanking new BMW but also use it to offer cab services across the city? Ola wants to solve this major loophole in the demand for luxurious cars by making BMW vehicles available to its fleet operators with an extremely attractive offer. There is however currently no mention of the exact model and make of the car the drivers will have access to.

BMW will offer a 360-degree solution that takes into account both pre and post sales ownership with maximum support throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle. Additionally, BMW Financial Services India will offer 100% financing for upto 4 years starting at low interest rates,

states the official statement.

In addition, the German car maker will also organize Driver Training programs for the benefit of newly-added drivers in the luxury segment. The instructors will familiarize partner drivers with versatile capabilities, technology, safety systems and features of BMW cars in detail. This program can easily be compared to other leasing programs that Ola has organized in partnership with Indian manufacturers, especially the Mahindra Group.

Commenting on this partnership, Mr. Pranay Jivrajka, Chief Operating Officer at Ola said,

We are delighted to partner with BMW, a brand synonymous with luxury in India. Through this partnership, Ola will strengthen its presence in the luxury mobility segment, an area that we believe has tremendous potential.

With the inclusion of BMW cars in Ola fleet, our customers will now have an opportunity to travel in complete luxury at the click of a button.

But, BMW being the luxury automobile manufacturer it is, tops off the deal by offering special aftersales packages to further reduce the cost of ownership. The company will also offer partner operators with an assured buy-back for their vehicles on completion of the contract. This will help completely secure their humongous investment in a BMW.

BMW India and Ola will additionally also explore other areas of joint collaboration to create unique opportunities for India’s enterprise customer segment.
