The Metal Gear franchise has seen its time in the industry. Konami has been pumping out MGS titles since what seems like the beginning of time itself. Almost every year you’re back with your controller piling unconscious or dead guard bodies atop more of them as Solid Snake. And occasionally you’re given cool new protagonists such as the cyborg ninja in peace walker. Well prepare yourself for another dose of Metal Gear awesomeness.

Amidst all the controversy that surrounded Konami over its feud with Kojima, the Phantom Pain developer received a lot of hate from the gaming community. Despite all the strife, they’ve made a hopeful return this gamescom with a new MGS, namely Metal Gear Survive.

They introduced the game with a trailer(as you can check out below) that depicts a branch out from their previous masterpiece that was Phantom Pain.

Konami European president, Tomotada Tashiro said in a press release:

Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements, but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience.

Considering the fact that Metal Gear Survive will be the first game made after the departure of Kojima from Konima, all eyes are on the new title as it holds the fate of Konami in its code.

Everything we know so far: Metal Gear Survival seems to be a fresh take on the series with the new Co-op feature and Zombie-esque mode. Though the whole Co-op Zombie genre may not be anything new for the industry as such, its definitely something new coming from these guys.

Although Big Boss(Solid snake) appears at the beginning of the game’s trailer, it’s still unclear whether he, the Snake clones, or any recognisable characters from the MGS games will appear in this. Nevertheless, Konami does make it clear that this is “a new addition to the Metal Gear Solid V experience”. Hope for the best i guess.
