Ola has today announced its partnership with EduKart, one of India’s largest online education marketplaces, in order to provide access to quality higher education to families of its driver partners.

This initiative from Ola is a part of company’s Gurukul program which was launched with an aim to provide quality education to drivers’ school going children. While the program used to support only school going children, it now has been further developed to support both school going as well as college going family members.

Pranay Jivrajka, COO at Ola said,

With Ola Gurukul, we aim to play our part in ensuring more and more children across the country have access to quality school and college education. We have hundreds of thousands of driver partners who work with us across 100+ cities today.

The objective of the Gurukul program is to enable access to quality education for children and family members of our partners. We think this will make a significant impact on India’s future as well as to the lives of our driver partners. We hope more and more drivers on our platform avail of this opportunity.

Under this partnership, EduKart will provide end-to-end assistance, guidance and also facilitate admissions for drivers and their family members at its partner colleges. As part of the program, EduKart will also provide assistance in availing scholarship and discounts on fees to family members of Ola drivers.

This partnership of Ola and EduKart will enable family members of Ola driver partners to study at reputed public and private institutes and drive towards a brighter future.

Currently, this new program is being rolled out to Ola drivers and their families in Delhi and would subsequently be rolled out in more cities of India, including Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

The program will ensure complete assistance to each student across steps involved for successful enrollment and completion of a course of choice. As per the company, assistance and counseling would be offered by admission experts to students and any problem that students may face throughout their study period at a university would be catered to.

Along with getting assistance for filling admissions forms, documentation, attestation and submission, scholarship awards, etc., students will also get access to other special features like career building webinars and EduKart’s referral programs.

Commenting about the partnership, Ishan Gupta, CEO EduKart said,

We are happy to see Ola’s commitment towards holistic development of its drivers’ community. Through its marketplace platform, EduKart is very uniquely positioned in the education landscape to provide access to many high-quality formal and non-formal education programs for the children and family members of the drivers.

Our team will provide all possible assistance that students would need to make the best use of this fantastic opportunity being provided to them by the Ola & EduKart partnership.
