InstaLively, the Delhi-based startup which lets anyone live stream content in HD format to Youtube via a mobile app, has secured a $120 K angel round, which saw participation from SlideShare co-founder Amit Ranjan and Google’s Rajan Anandan among others.

Instalively offers a mobile-only app, which lets anyone with a smartphone, stream videos directly to YouTube via its Cloud infrastructure. The Instalively mobile app offers two modes of live streaming, one is a D-I-Y mode, wherein you live stream your content yourself, and the other one is called “Get External Help” wherein a videographer comes to your location to shoot and live-stream videos for you.

The company was founded by Prakhar Khanduja and Vaidyanath in 2014. While Khanduja has Hartmann College as his alma-mater, Vaidyanath is an Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee graduate.

However, live streaming isn’t actually meant for countries with an average internet speed lingering around a lowly 2Mb/s. So how do you live-stream in such places ? Well, Instalively already takes care of that and has optimised its platform so that it works very well in Low Bandwidth environments across all devices – Mobile, Tablets and PCs.

Instalively currently claims to have broadcasted over 1000K minutes of live streaming videos with over 10K viewers. Its current target markets include corporate gatherings, personal events and India’s “everyday is a celebration” audience.
