Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Note Edge phablet is going to launch in Japan this month. It will be available through KDDI and NTT DoCoMo carriers.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is also available on pre-order in some EU countries – the UK price is £650, while in Germany it is €999. But the official date is yet to be announced.
Note edge’s USP, the unique curved Edge Screen provides quick access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functions even when the cover is closed, all with the swipe of a thumb. Users can also receive instant notifications on the Edge Screen when watching videos. Meanwhile, camera control buttons have been placed on the Edge Screen, so that users can capture and record their special moments while looking through a clean screen absent of any buttons.
The Galaxy Note Edge comes with support for the S Pen stylus, and features a 5.6-inch Quad-HD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (as well as a 160 pixel panel that curves to one edge).It is powered by 2.7 GHz Snapdragon 805 CPU with 3 GB RAM combined with a 32 GB internal memory and microSD slot up to 128 GB. The phablet features a 16 MP camera at the back with a 3.7 MP shooter at the front and a 3,000 mAh battery.
