Indian mobile vendor, Xolo, today launched their new Android smartphone Xolo 8X-1000 with a launch price of Rs 13,999. It will be available from next week.
Xolo 8X-1000 sports a 5-inch 720p display with Asahi Dragontail glass panel. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Xolo’s new HIVE UI running on top.Xolo 8X-1000 is powered by 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa -core processor with 2GB RAM,16 GB internal storage expandable upto 32GB with microSD card.
The phone comes with8 MP rear camera with EXmor R sensor and 2MP front camera with 1,920mAh battery. It features glass back with Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well
Interesting aspect of the new Xolo smartphone is the introduction of an all new HIVE UI, which borrows its features, heavily from Xiaomi’s MIUI. Although XOLO has made a decent effort, yet, it fails to strike the right chord, unlike Xiaomi, which has been selling its phones in large numbers, largely due to its innovative MIUI.
Also, to reduce costs, and still maintain display quality, XOLO has used commercial glass manufacturing giant, Asahi’s Dragontail glass panel. We’ll have to wait and watch for the response which this phone receives.
