Oppo has announced its first India-based Research & Development centre in Hyderabad. For this, the company has also announced the appointment of Tasleem Arif as its R&D Head in India.
As the Vice President and Head R&D, Oppo India, Arif will be leading the team focusing on software localisation for Indian consumers as well as device quality.
Commenting on this development, Charles Wong, OPPO India President, said:

We are excited to have Tasleem on board and believe that with his expertise we will be able to build a strong R&D team and make this centre second largest after China.
Prior to joining Oppo, Arif was working at Samsung as Head – Samsung Make for India Innovations (R&D) and India Hardware-Software Product Planning. He brings to the new role almost 15 years of experience in mobile software, design and development.
The company’s first R&D facility in India will be working towards gaining deeper insights about Indian consumers and market. It will also help in building India-centric innovations and customised product offerings, said the company.
The Hyderabad-based Research & Development Centre will be OPPO’s seventh such facility globally. The company has established four such facilities in China, and one each in the USA and Japan.
