Microsoft recently added backwards compatibility to the Xbox One and by allowing owners to play a few Xbox 360 titles on the newer model. The newest update to the console, known as Game Pass is a literally a game-changing update. The GamePass is a Netflix-style monthly subscription service that gives players access to all old and new games.
Last week, Xbox Live Gold members were given early access to this feature. However, the Xbox GamePass has now been made available to anyone who has the Xbox One.
This information came in a tweet from the director of programming for Xbox Live Larry Hryb in which he said,
Xbox Game Pass is now available for Xbox One owners & you can now browse the Game Pass catalog thru the Xbox App on your Windows 10 PC!
The Game Pass allows players to download games from over 100 available titles (bear in mind, that this is only the number of titles available at launch!) at $10 per month. The games that are available include the relatively new Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 as well as older games like Soul Calibur II and Banjo-Kazooie.
If you think the $10 subscription is an expensive investment in addition to your Xbox Live subscription, Microsoft is giving you all a 14-day free trial to check out the service so you can decide whether or not you like it. This free trial will give you access to the catalog of games that are available.
Additionally, Seagate has announced a new storage solution for users who have availed the Game Pass subscription. It has revealed an external hard drive that will be available in 2GB and 4GB and will connect to the device through USB. The hard drive, known as the Seagate Game Drive for Xbox Game Pass Special Edition is compatible with the Xbox One as well as the Xbox 360.
If you’re someone who wants to play Xbox 360 games and don’t own one, you can do it with the help of Xbox 360 Emulator for PC, go check it out and download to experience the games you always wanted to play.
