While it has already been confirmed by Lenovo that Moto G5 Plus will be launched in India on 15th March, some new information has emerged making it clear that the phone will be exclusively available on Flipkart.
Notably, the first Moto G smartphone from Motorola was Flipkart exclusive, back in 2014. This is what started the trend of the online exclusive business model from smartphone manufacturers. However, with Moto G4, the company expanded its reach and the phone was available on other platforms also.
The celebrations from Flipkart on Twitter shows that they’re bringing back the Moto G series as an exclusive device to their platform once again. Surprisingly, all reports are talking about Moto G5 Plus and there is no mention of Moto G5. However, we are expecting Moto G5 to launch on the very same day, and if not, then very soon.
We’re sending a whole lot of love your way @Flipkart. Make way for the ultimate #MotoG5Plus! It is time to #Uncompromise! pic.twitter.com/QQ0i3jkWOR

Motorola officially launched the next-gen Moto G series smartphones at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week. The latest Moto G5 series comes with popular features like Moto Display and shake gestures. Both the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will also be receiving the uber-smart Google Assistant, which is coming to all Android smartphones running Marshmallow 6.0 and above. The smartphones will be available in Fine Gold and Lunar Gray colors.
The Moto G5 Plus features a 5.2-inch full HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset, paired with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM options. There is, however no word on which variant will be making its way to India next week.
The smartphone sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with Dual Autofocus Pixels and f/1.7 aperture. Up front, the device houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. On the software front, it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS, and the phone is powered by a 3,000mAh removable battery. It also has Motorola’s TurboPower fast charging technology.
On the other hand, the Moto G5 features a smaller 5-inch full HD display and runs on Snapdragon 430 chipset. It also has memory options — 2/3/4 GB of RAM, and 16GB/32GB storage. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. This one too runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 2,800mAh removable battery.
Internationally, the Moto G5 is priced at €199 with 2GB RAM/16GB storage, while the Moto G5 Plus is priced at $229 in the U.S for the 2GB/32GB model and $279 for the 4GB/64GB version. We’ll have pricing and availability information for the Indian market once the phone goes live on Flipkart on 15th March.
