At the time of raising another $15 million in Series D round, the food delivery startup Swiggy announced plans to fuel its next growth phase with the picked up capital. As of today, the company has stood by its words and expanded its services in Delhi-NCR. Swiggy will soon start servicing in Faridabad, Noida Expressway and Greater Noida along with extending the time limit till 2 A.M. in Gurugram.

Following Hyderabad, Swiggy will now operate midnight food deliveries in Gurugram as well. The company has also partnered with various local food trucks and eateries to serve its customers. Talking about the expansion plan, Srivats TS, Vice President, marketing at Swiggy said,

As we introduce Swiggy in Faridabad, Greater Noida and Noida Expressway, these customers can now enjoy the benefits of Swiggy delivery in their areas as well. At the same time, restaurant partners in these locations will benefit from Swiggy’s growing customer base and increased order volume.

Apart from growing its services around the capital, Swiggy is establishing a strong foothold in Bengaluru as well. The food delivery app introduced cloud kitchen service ‘The Bowl Company’, in Bengaluru in select areas, the previous month. This service offers a limited yet quick delivery menu to customers in Koramangala and has joined hands with prominent restaurants to make it happen.

In the months to follow, the startup will undertake new initiatives to constantly evolve and address the growing needs of different consumer segments. It is currently operational in eight cities — Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, and Chennai — with some 5,000 restaurants on its platform. It claims to be presently delivering 20,000 orders, with an average delivery time of just 37 minutes.

Since the commencement of its business, Swiggy has given other competitive players present in the industry including Zomato a tough time. It is now also looking for fresh faces in the business and lately welcomed Myntra and CureFit founder Mukesh Bansal to join the board.
