Just earlier today, EA officially added their sci-fi franchise based shooter Star Wars: Battlefront to the EA Access free game vault on the Xbox One. This means that all of the service’s subscribers can now play the full game as much as they want and anytime they want. Though keep in mind that what’s being made available to you here is the standard edition, so it obviously won’t be coming with any of the post-release add-ons.

Battlefront’s timely arrival in the EA Access free game vault happens just two days post the release of Star Wars: Rogue One in theaters on December 16. The game’s already released Rogue One tie-in DLC, Rogue One: Scarif, rolled out on December 6 for some players, adding franchise content and characters from the upcoming movie. Expanding the game’s decent roster of Star Wars characters.

If remembered correctly, Battlefront was actually confirmed to join the “Vault” of free games all the way back in October, though a date was never specified. And as of now, there isn’t any word on whether Battlefront will be added to the Origin Access free games vault, which is a version of EA Access for PC. No version of EA Access has been made available to PlayStation 4 users till now.

Purchasing EA Access membership will cost you $5 a month or $30 a year. The benefits of this membership include access to an ever expanding library of free games, along with the ability to play EA published games before their release. Members further save 10 percent on all available EA digital content.

On index, Battlefront is the 39th game to enter the EA Access free game vault. A Star Wars:Battlefront sequel is supposed to come out in 2017. It hasn’t been officially announced, but EA has stated that it’ll be “much bigger” than the first game and feature content from “the new movies.”
