Redmi 4

Xiaomi has been launching new devices back-to-back for some time now. It recently launched two new smartphones — Mi Note 2 and Mi Mix. Now, the company’s upcoming smartphone — Redmi 4 has been leaked online through the certification site TENNA.

The leak has revealed the image of the smartphone as well as the key specifications of the device. Along with Redmi 4, another variant of the device, named Redmi 4A has also been leaked.

As per the leak, Redmi 4 will come with a full metal body, capacitive buttons at the front, and power and volume buttons to the right. It will also feature a 5-inch Full HD LCD display, with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The phone is said to be powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM. Surprisingly, this is in contradiction to an earlier TENNA claiming that the Redmi 4 will be powered by a Helio P10 processor.

As far as the storage is concerned, the device will likely pack 32GB of internal storage. To further increase the storage capacity, it also features a microSD card slot, with support for upto 128GB.

The camera department consists of a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera as the selfie shooter. The phone will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The battery is expected to be pretty big as batteries go and will likely range between 4,000 to 4,100 mAh.

The leak further suggests that the Redmi 4 smartphone will be made available in three colors, including Grey, Silver and Gold.

The other variant of the phone — Redmi 4A, comes with a 5-inch HD LCD display. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.  It features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.

It will be powered by either a 3000mAh or 3030mAh battery, and will be available in Rose Gold and Gold colour variants.

As far as the pricing is concerned, some reports suggests that the Redmi 4 is expected to be priced at CNY 1,300 (Rs. 13,000), while other reports suggests a CNY 999 (Rs. 9,999) price tag for the Redmi 4, and a CNY 599 (Rs. 5,999) price for the Redmi 4A.

Xiaomi recently launched a couple of devices and has not yet announced its plan to launch any other, new smartphones. However, as these devices have now passed the certification process, we can expected the official announcement sooner rather than later.
