We all know that Apple is building a 9.7-inch iPad Pro instead of iPad Air 3. The tablet is said to come with the same internals as its bigger version – the 12.9 inch iPad Pro. But, the latest report from 9to5Mac suggests that it may surpass 12.9 inch iPad in terms of camera.
As per the reports, the upcoming 9.7 inch iPad Pro will be featuring a 12 megapixel camera, which will also be capable of recording 4K resolution videos. It is the same sensor that is used in the iPhone 6s. The 12.9 inch version comes with an 8 MP camera.
The report further says – “Given that the smaller display yields a more portable form-factor, it would make sense for Apple to promote improved photography on its 9.7-inch tablet.”
Apart from the upgraded camera, the new 9.7-inch iPad is very much a smaller variant of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. It is likely to be powered by the A9X processor.
The reports also suggests screen technology that supports the Apple Pencil, quad speakers, and a Smart Connector. Apple is also working on an optimized Smart Keyboard cover.
It is also expected to include an updated display that features brightness and anti-glare improvements over the iPad Air 2. Rumored specs of the device include 9.7-inch display with 2732 x 2048 pixels screen resolution sans 3D Touch functionality and 4GB of RAM.
In terms of colour and storage options, it is expected to be no different than the previous iPad Pro. But, the pricing of the tablet is expected to be closer to the iPad Air models.
The 9.7 inch Apple iPad Pro is expected to be announced along with the 4-inch iPhone SE and some Apple Watch models on March 21. Although, nothing related to the event or products has been confirmed by Apple yet.
