Netflix

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said during the Consumer Electronics Show on Wednesday that Netflix is cool with you sharing your account. Lots of people have recently started sharing their entertainment services’ password and Netflix believes it’s not a bad thing.

“We love people sharing Netflix,” Hastings said. “That’s a positive thing, not a negative thing.”

Though it is becoming a popular trend nowadays, some people still think that sharing your password violates the terms of service and could be illegal. Well, they can’t convince Netflix of that.

Sharing is okay but Netflix can limit the number of people who can simultaneously use your account. Over a standard account, for $9.99 you can access your account via 2 screens. To bring this up to 4 screens, you will have to pay an extra $2.

According to Hastings, househol password swapping was totally fine with the company. He didn’t talk about any other kind. He believes that many times household sharing leads to new customers because kids subscribe on their own as they start to earn income. This is great for the company.
