After almost one and a half year of waiting, Microsoft has finally unveiled its latest Windows flaghip handset today at its Windows 10 Devices event in New York. But the thing to note here is that maybe the wait was worth it. The new flagship that Microsoft has put all its hopes upon to redeem Windows Phone has been named the Lumia 950 and the surprise here is that it’s one hell of a beast.

The phone sports a modest 5.2-inch WQHD OLED display which, according to OLED’s history, has excellent colour reproduction and awesome contrast levels. The display will also not disappoint you when you are outdoors. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor making it one of the most powerful smartphones in the market today. This superb processor has been coupled with 3 GB of RAM for your multitasking and dynamic usage.

The smartphone boosts a 20 MP PureView camera with triple LED flash on the rear, while the front is taken up by a wide-angle 5 MP camera. In terms of built-in storage, the Redmond giant says that it will come in with 32 GB for starters. You also get USB Type-C support.

Another one of the new Lumia’s more exciting features is Continuum. This new feature that Microsoft has unveiled for Windows Phone allows your smartphone to turn into a computer by allowing it to connect wirelessly to a mouse, a keyboard etc.

The flagship will draw juice from a massive 3,000 mAh battery and will be available for $549.
