Desidime, a community driven website for deals, discounts and price comparison, has now been merged into Pepper.com, a global platform for deals and discounts. The merger deal included both – cash and equity but the figures remains undisclosed.
As a part of the deal, Mehul Jobanputra, CEO and co-founder of Desidime will join the directors for Pepper.com.
The merger gives us a better power to negotiate deals as well as roll-out features faster. After consolidation across different sites, all the different deal discovery sites on Pepper.com will migrate to a common platform.

Desidime was founded in 2011 with an objective to create a community which is created by the users, for the users, to share the best deals available on the net. However, looking at how even bigger players like GroupOn are finding it difficult to sustain such a business, the merger looks a pretty convincing move.
Desidime aggregates online shopping deals in India and showcase them in categories to make shoppers life easy from more than 500 store including Flipkart, Amazon India, Jabong, eBay, Snapdeal, Myntra, Freecharge, Paytm, Cleartrip, Yatra, Tradus, Homeshop18, Shopclues, Infibeam, Pepperfry, Expedia, Fashionandyou, Lenskart and many more.
It claims to have more than 5,00,000 registered users in India, and lists over 1500 to 2000 deals per day on its portal. It further claims to be serving more than 20 million page views per month.
The website operates on the affiliate commission basis where if a user buys a product through a deal displayed on the website by clicking on the link, Desidime receives commission for it.
Pepper.com, founded in 2014 by Paul Nikkel and Fabian Spielberger, is claimed to be the world’s largest deals community. It receives more than 400 million pageviews every month.
