The search giant Google takes second big India-centric step by launching the Google maps in Hindi, nationally from Jaipur!

After, announcing that Google’s voice assistant can now recognize Indian accents, Google  works further for its large user base of India by providing the comprehensive Google maps in Hindi. Launching the service nationally from Jaipur, Suren Ruhela ,Product and Program Management Director, Google, said, the service may be made available in regional languages based on the feedback of this initiative.

The new maps will be available on the new Google Maps and on the latest Google Maps for mobile app on Android devices running versions 4.3 and above. ( iOS users will still have to search in English.)

In order to see the Hindi labels on Google Maps, you have to enable Hindi as your preferred language. From a computer, you can change your language preference to Hindi on your Google account settings or by selecting  the “Hindi” option at the bottom of the page on the google.co.in home page. On Android, simply select the Hindi option within the “Language and input” menu found in your phone’s Settings menu.

Google has been recently seen, taking steps, in order to mull more Indian customers towards its services. This is largely due to the fact that India is one of the biggest markets for the search giant, and making its service, specially available in Indian languages, will help Google getting more customers for its ad services.
