Apple, AirPods

A couple months ago, Apple took a leap of faith calling it ‘courage’ and delivered on the rumors going around on the interwebs. It removed the trusty old 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7 lineup. But, that’s not it. The Cupertino giant also debuted an awkward-looking wireless replacement for your earpods, called Airpods. These wireless earphones, however, haven’t seen the light of day as of yet.

Apple initially planned to make the Airpods available to users in ‘late October’ but later sources suggested that the Cupertino giant requires a ‘little more time’ to perfect the product. It had then been said that the Airpods have been delayed indefinitely and one shouldn’t expect them to debut before January 2017. But fresh reports from an Apple-focused German publication ApfelPage suggests that they might be available starting next week.

The rumors of the wireless earbuds launching sooner than expected have now been fueled by an employee at the European Apple reseller called Conrad. The employee reportedly told one of the customers enquiring about the Airpods that the store will receive new stock on November 17th. Thus, the customers could come in and purchase the same on the following days, i.e November 18 or 19.

Here a loosely translated version(from German) of the customer’s inquiry about the Airpods:

Hello, I have just talked with an employee of the Conrad Online Store, since I am there on 14.10 the AirPods ordered and I wanted to cancel today. According to information from the employee, they have stockpiles from 17.11, I will then have them between November 18-19.

This conversation ignites our hopes about the launch of the new Airpods in the coming week but Conrad’s website states the contrary. The official website states that Apple’s wireless earbuds are expected to be available for sale in the ‘about 7 weeks’ and there’s a possibility that the employee provided the incorrect info. We’ve contacted Apple for more information and will update you if we receive a reply.

Thus, we would recommend you not to get extremely hyped up and take the Conrad employee’s info with a grain of salt. And yeah, still wait for the timely arrival of the Airpods is another thing we got to worry about.
