Servify, a Mumbai-based company that offers brand-authorized after-sales service for devices, has announced the acquisition of Bengaluru-based gadget repair firm iService in a cash and stock deal.

However, the company has not revealed the financial terms of the deal. As a part of this deal, the company’s founders and the core tech and the product teams will be joining Servify.

The company has clarified that the branded service centers of iService will be operating independently and are not part of the acquisition deal. Ankit Chowdhary, the founder of iService, said:

I believe Sreevathsa (founder) and Servify are well aligned in trying to do the same and we intend to bring all the learnings from the third party repair space to the brand authorized network, which will enable consumers to get the best in class services.

iService was founded by Ankit Chowdhary along with his PES College of Engineering peer Pratheek Vinod Kumar in 2013. It repairs and services smartphones and portable devices at customer homes and through its brick-and-mortar service centres.

Sreevathsa Prabhakar, founder of Servify, said:

Ankit and team at iService genuinely kept customers at the centre while solving the problem in this unorganised industry. With them becoming part of Servify, we can now get good insight into the third party service ecosystem, some of whom operated even better than the brand’s own authorized service ecosystem.

On the other hand, Servify, which was founded in 2015 by Sreevathsa Prabhakar.
