Things just got a bit too Christmasy for Fortnite players, as they experienced continued login and queue issues. Epic Games, the developer behind the uber popular game, has acknowledged the issue and said that it is investigating the issue. As of now, everything seems to have resolved as far as Epic Games is concerned, though players are still just getting back to normalcy.
We are investigating an issue causing some players to encounter a problem with game services and when attempting to log in. https://t.co/3y0X6buriO— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) 26 December 2018
Earlier yesterday, multiple players had responded that they were being thrown into ques for as long as 5 minutes, ultimately getting timed out. The queues according to media reports, had turned to 10 minutes in some cases.
The reason could well be Christmas and the ongoing New Year’s holidays, since this is an obviously peak time for the company to handle. It sees a surge in number of players online, coming in primarily during Christmas and new year holidays, thus resulting in such outage. As of now though, things are all good.
Merry Fortnite New Year folks!
