Folks looking to make purchases from eBay will now be able to order installation services as well. eBay has partnered with a slew of companies including Handy, Porch, InstallerNet. This will let folks buying difficult products, which require installation and assembly services such as: TVs, bikes, furniture etc, receive them without any extra effort.

The option to purchase installation will be available at checkout in selected items, and once you select it, the eCommerce platform will send you an e-mail confirming your purchase. You will also be able to choose a time and date as per your preference and folks from one of these services will come to the address you have specified, and fix up your purchase, ready for use.

Among the different partnerships, Handy is a New York-based service that will help people with things like TV mounting, smart home setup, and furniture assembly. Where consumer and commercial electronics are concerned, Boston-based InstallerNet can help folks out through independent contractors. Finally, Seattle’s Porch will be helping out in a variety of installation projects.

Alyssa Steele, Vice President of Merchandising at eBay said:

A massive amount of home and electronic items are sold on eBay daily, many of which require professional installation. With these new partnerships, we’re able to combine our incredible selection of inventory with easy access to affordable and trusted service professionals, making eBay a one-stop shop for our customers.

eBay started off by offering tire-installation services in 2017. While it plans to expand its in-house capabilities, these partnerships will allow it to start offering installation services from the get-go, without having to spend considerable resources in creating an independent unit.

Interestingly, Handy has a similar deal in place with Walmart, both for its offline and online stores.

Oisin Hanrahan, CEO of Handy commented on his company’s recent partnership with eBay:

We are thrilled to add eBay to the growing roster of top retail brands who rely on our platform to provide fast and convenient assembly and installation services. The integration with Handy will enhance the shopping experience on eBay with seamless access to service professionals who can help buyers avoid headaches and enjoy their home goods purchases without the hassle.
