OnePlus, the renowned Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced the inauguration of its first-ever authorized store in India. Located in Mumbai, the store, opens its door to the customers today. To celebrate the launch of the OnePlus Authorized store, the phone maker is giving out Bullet V2 earphones on the purchase of any OnePlus handset.
OnePlus aims to attract new customers enabling them to test the phones before making a purchase. This is a part of their move to increase the offline reach in the nation and bring a rise in the sales. Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India, in an official statement, resonated the ambition saying,
Customer satisfaction has always been at the core of OnePlus’ strategy. The new ‘OnePlus Authorised Store’ is designed to complement our online first business strategy and also attract new users while serving as a destination for our fast-growing community to experience and purchase OnePlus products.
The company’s direct competitors such as Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo, also debuted in Indian smartphone market with an online presence. Akin to OnePlus, they followed an online-only model, collaborating with various e-commerce websites for the sales. The cut-throat rivalry is driving them to establish and expand themselves with offline stores. This seems to be going well with a huge section of users too who prefer to check, test and experience the smartphone in person before going ahead with the purchase.
Last year in September, OnePlus associated with Croma to offer customers a comfortable and easy offline access to their products via different stores. Later, it went on to open an Experience Store in Bangalore. These stores differ from the Authorised stores as they do not target sales, even though you can buy devices from there. The trained staff intends to offer users a good experience instead of marketing and pushing sales.
Also, today marks the launch of OnePlus 5T in its striking Lava Red edition in the nation. Available alongside with the Midnight black variant on Amazon India, oneplus.net, it can be bought from the Mumbai store as well. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, it comes only with the 128GB capacity at ₹37,999 ($595). The features of the device are same as of the other color – 8GB RAM, a dual-camera system of 16 and 20 MP with f/1.7 aperture. The device runs on OxygenOS, a customized version of the Android, developed by OnePlus itself. The latest update comes with Face Unlock, letting users unlock their phones by looking at them.
