First unveiled at Mobile World Congress back in February, Samsung Tab S3 is now making its way to India. The Korean giant has already sent out invites to a media event scheduled for June 20th in Bengaluru. This is Samsung’s latest bet for the flailing tablet market.
As seen in the launch event invite attached below, Samsung has quoted the words Work, Play, My Way to advertise the tablet. The Korean giant has further drawn a outline of the huge Galaxy Tab S3, which has been launched in competition to the iPad Pro. But, the same itself has received a refresh in the form of a new feature-packed 10.5-inch variant, which packs a bigger display in a body almost the same size as the previous iPad.
As for the specifications, the Galaxy Tab S3 feature a glass body, which packs a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2048 × 1536 pixels screen resolution. The tablet has been powered by an older-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It can further be extended up to 256 GB using a MicroSD card.
As for the optics, the Galaxy Tab S3 includes a 13-megapixel shooter on the rear, which is capable of 4K video recording and a 5-megapixel front camera to satisfy your selfie needs. It will be powered by the latest flavor of Android, Nougat 7.0 and a massive 6,000 mAh battery with fast charging capabilities.
As for the connectivity options, the device was launched in two different iterations — Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity. Other options included within the tablet are 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2 x 2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, and latest USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer capabilities.
Further, the Galaxy Tab S3 is equipped with a set of 4 auto-calibrated speakers that can reposition themselves depending on how the tablet is being held at any particular instant. It includes S Pen support, which allows you to draw, write, capture screen shots, record GIFs, and do literally anything S Pen are capable of. The aforementioned speakers are tuned by audio brand AKG.
The said tablet device was launched for a hefty $599 (approx Rs 38,500) in the United States. We’ll just have to wait another day to learn the pricing and availability of the Galaxy Tab S3 in India.
