RecomN.com, the trusted platform for people planning their home improvement project, has rebranded itself to Recommend.my.

In addition, the company now has a directory-like feature on its website, with over 50,000 photos of completed works from top-rated companies across Malaysia. These pictures cover interior design and renovations, kitchen designs, wardrobe designs and more.

This feature will simply enhance user experience as the customers will now be able to view photo albums of completed projects, contact service providers directly, browse customer reviews, or conduct an online chat before hiring. Jes Min Lua, co-founder, and head of Malaysia, said,

The original website allowed customers to get competitive quotes from trusted service professionals. However, we’ve realized that there are customers who are still browsing and researching, and are not ready to hire yet. This new feature will allow them to get inspired by ideas and educated about materials and pricing, before hiring the professional who can deliver the job.

Since its incorporation in 2014 Recommend.my has expanded its footprint to Indonesia, where it operates as Sejasa.com and in Thailand with the brand, Helpdee.com. Apart from home improvement, it offers events and wedding inspiration, letting people browse through pictures for various ideas. They can then bookmark photos and service professional contacts as they plan out their projects. Whereas it acts as a one-stop-shop for service professionals to simply grow their business and build their brand reputation.

Recommend.my had raked in $1 million in seed funding from Gobi Ventures in early 2016. It claims to have connected users to over 20,000 service professionals across the region, in more than 200 categories within home, events, business, and lifestyle. Alex Tan, co-founder and head of Marketing, Recommend.my, says,

With Recommend.my, we’re building on our core mission of helping customers reach good service professionals fast, to work hand-in-hand with them to create happy places and happy moments. When they are ready to hire, we will always encourage them to go through our payment platform because we can then provide warranty and insurance in the rare case anything goes wrong.
