vivo v5s

As suspected, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has today launched the next model of its V5 selfie-focused smartphone series — Vivo V5s, here in India. The smartphone has been introduced at a price of ₹18,990 ($296), available in two colors — Crown Gold and Matte Black. While the smartphone can be pre-booked from today, Vivo will start shipping the devices from May 6th.

Following the design aesthetics of its previous smartphone, the Vivo V5s comes in a more or less similar design with a major bump in storage capacity, from 32GB in V5 to 64GB in the V5s model. The handset is being marketed as a Selfie-centric handset, similar to the prior releases by Vivo.

Vivo V5s features a metal unibody design having a 5.5-inch HD display and a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass on top. Similar to its predecessor, the smartphone packs in a MediaTek octa-core MT6750 chipset. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s own FunTouch OS 2.6 skin. It offers 4 GB RAM along with 64 GB of internal storage, expandable up to additional 128 GB via MicroSD card slot.

As for the optics, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera complete with Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. In the front, the handset features a 20-megapixel camera coupled with PDAF and a f/2.2 aperture. The camera specs look great for a mid-budget smartphone, especially the resolution of the selfie-shooter. Similar to other smartphones in the series, Vivo V5s also comes along with the popular  ‘Moonlight Glow’ feature for perfect selfies, provoking a natural glow on the face of the subject.

The Dual-SIM smartphone houses a 3,300 mAh battery and brings along every requisite connectivity feature including 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headphone port, and a micro-USB 2.0 port.

We all know, rather than the technology integrated inside the phone, a lot of Indian consumers are still attracted towards the camera quality, color, and price of the phone — which is well understood and implemented by Vivo.
