Uber

Uber is looking to get some answers from the man who created the ultimate question answering machine of all time. The cab aggregator has filed a request in the courts requesting that it be allowed to seek information from Google co-founder and Alphabet CEO Larry Page.

The court agreed to Google’ demands, albeit with reservations. In face of strong opposition from Waymo, the courts said that Uber could pose a single question to Page. The question would revolve around whether or not, Otto co-founder Anthony Levandowski told Page about his decision to  move to Uber. Waymo’s lawyers have denied that such a conversation ever happened though, so we can pretty much predict Page’s answer.

Apparently, Uber lawyer Arturo Gonzalez has told the court that Larry was well aware of the fact that Lavandowski had downloaded and was taking along 14,000 documents from the company. I know, the claim is pretty strange as which Founder will look the other way while technology belonging to its company is illegally downloaded and taken to a rival.

Should Page agree to this, Waymo’s arguments that Levandowski stole the technology with malicious intent, will be put to the lie. And such documents could prove to be pretty documents However, the likelihood of that happening is pretty low.
