Apple has started pushing out the third macOS 10.12.5 developer beta through the Mac App Store. The update follows the macOS 10.12.4 update. The 10.12.4 was full of surprises and if you remember, debuted the color shifting Night Shift feature to the Mac. Let’s hope the latest beta is as exciting.
We will probably have to wait for a while to see what the newest beta unfolds. This particular release is limited for developers and common folks like you and me will have to wait for a while before the public beta version rolls out. That is not certain though, considering Apple’s highly unpredictable behavior when it comes to following developer beta with public ones. It could release the public beta tomorrow, or after a week.
Meanwhile, the lack of release notes could be taken to mean that this is a relatively minor update. We are waiting for the macOS 10.13, which is likely to see the light of day come Apple’s WWDC event. As such, it is all too likely that 10.12.5 is merely a precursor to an impending version update and includes fixes for bugs in the platform.
