Project Scorpio, Scorpio

Microsoft’s Project Scorpio Xbox console is expected to be the next word in gaming. Indeed, we have been hearing so many rumors about the console that we already have a pretty shrewd idea of what lies in store. However, there is still quite a lot that Microsoft is keeping under the covers and the company has finally confirmed that it will be spilling the beans on all the rest of the secrets come June the 11th.

The company has sent out press invites to the media, referring to the Project Scorpio Xbox console as the first true 4K console for gamers. The invites are for its E3 event, to be held on the 11th of June. This confirms all the rumors that have been floating around for quite a while, and that were pinpointing E3 as the event of choice for Microsoft.

Commenting on the topic through a blog post, Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox said:

I’m proud of the progress made with Project Scorpio and what it will mean for the creators who fuel the passion of gamers around the world. On behalf of everyone at Team Xbox, thank you for your continued passion and support. We’re excited to unveil Project Scorpio and the amazing game experiences it powers at E3 this June.

The blog post also confirms the fact that Xbox One games will be playable on the Project Scorpio console. The only major difference — and Microsoft expects it to be a noticeable one — will lie in the quality of the graphics. Indeed, it appears as if Microsoft is placing too much of its faith upon the fact that the graphics quality brought to bear by the Scorpio console will be enough to induce users to shell out the undoubtedly heavy price required.

Well, let’s see if the Scorpio console can live up to its expectations. Microsoft for one has tons of faith and Spencer even went so far so as to call it the best place to play any Xbox game.

With Project Scorpio, we created a console with the goal of being the ultimate place for developers to realize their visions and the best place to play any Xbox game.
