Microsoft is not officially rolling out the Windows 10 Creators Update for all its licensed users until April 11. But, it is coming through on the promise of delivering the update a week early to streamline the process and reduce the load for next week. Thus, users can now manually install the next major update of the operating system through the company’s website.
If you’re already anxious to install the Creators Update, let us guide you through the process you’d have to follow to instantly grab the update. This is actually quite simple and you don’t have to do much of anything, except downloading the Update Assistant tool which has officially been released today. You just have to download and install the same to get started with upgrading your computer to the next Windows 10 iteration — version 1703 (codenamed Redstone 2).
Additionally, you also have the option to manually perform a completely clean install if that’s what you prefer. You can download the ISO files for the Windows 10 Creators Update from this link, which needs to be mounted via the Explorer window to access the setup file and start the installation process.
And if you’re truly impatient and this update excited you to the core, then you’re most likely an active participant of the Windows 10 Insider Program. You are already acquainted with most of the features and have access to the final, complete Creators Update in the form of the preview build #15063 for the past couple of weeks — Microsoft just never accepted the fact.
However, you can probably give these buggy internal builds a break for some time and install the Creators Update on your PC using the Update Assistant tool. You can also disable preview build updates from the Settings menu for the time being, else you’ll continue receiving automatic updates to new test versions of Windows 10. Moving to a stable update could also be a good idea as Microsoft has issued a warning to users saying that upcoming Insider builds might be more buggy than usual. So, beware! Redstone 3 preview builds incoming!
For those unaware, Windows 10 Creators Update, as the name suggests, brings along features built particularly keeping an artistic and creative person in mind. It is focused on the human self — their power to dream, experiment, and get creative. The same is reflected in the new apps, features, and improvements made to the operating system. The Redmond giant has implemented UUP (Unified Update Platform) with this update, to reduce the size of updates by over 35 percent.
Once you’ve installed this update, you’ll gain access to the new Paint 3D that’ll enable you to create your drawings completely in three dimensions. It also includes improvements to Xbox Gaming with native Beam integration, the creation of custom tournaments, and Game Mode to enhance your gaming experience. There are other significant upgrades that have been debuted to ensure an all-around excellent performance — including major security and privacy ones.
