Amit Saini has joined the payments company as a Vice President of Engineering. Prior to this role, he was working at homegrown cab hailing service Ola as Director of Engineering. Commenting on his appointment, Amit Saini said:

Razorpay echoes the vision I set for myself, and its recent growth in scale and stature have been nothing short of extraordinary.

Amit holds a Masters degree in Computer Science (Data Mining) from NTU Singapore. He worked at Ola for almost two and half year as Director of Engineering. Before joining Ola, he founded a startup named SkillCafe — a predictive analytics engine that helps you find what your next career move should be. The startup was incubated at the University of Florida.

Prior to all this, he was working at IBM Singapore as a Development Manager, where he spent about four years. Before that, he was a Development Lead at Apigee for over four years, which he joined after leaving his job as a Software Design Engineer at Microsoft.

Razorpay was founded in 2013 by Shashank Kumar and Harshil Mathur. It provides an easy to integrate payment gateway solution that blends seamlessly with a website, avoiding visitors from ever leaving the website throughout the process.

Till now, the company has raised over $11.6 million in over three rounds of funding from 23 investors, including Matrix Partners India, GMO Venture Partners, MasterCard, and a group of angel investors.
