Tesla

Tesla has a Model X. And it could soon have a Model Y as well. The company has already teased that particular car multiple times, so we know that it is there. However, Tesla has been very reclusive and no details about that particular vehicle are forthcoming. CEO Elon Musk recently opened up about the vehicle over Twitter, noting that we could know more about  it next week.

Tesla’s current lineup includes a series of cars. The lineup also has the Model X, so it is but natural to assume that a Model Y would make its way to us as well. The company has already teased the model and we know that it will be  compact SUV and will likely pack a price tag that will be lighter on the pockets. Meanwhile, in his tweets recently Musk noted that while we are not likely to see the Model Y out on the roads for a few years to come, what we can expect is more information about the vehicle as early as next week.

The last time we received details about the Model Y was at Tesla’s earnings call last year. At that time, Musk had said that Model Y would be the company’s primary offering after Model 3. He also said that the company would be laying a lot of focus on the vehicle, if only because the price and other features would be such that a lot of demand would be generated.

We can imagine the Model Y to take the road followed by the Model 3, considering that Tesla is hoping to do bulk sales with the latter as well. If so, we could see multiple models made using the same chassis. Don’t expect the company to go overboard with this vehicle. It is likely to be average as far as Tesla cars go. However, Musk has already set the bar for average pretty high, so that is alright.
