Gear up- some new wrist gears are in town. South Korean behemoth LG is launching two new smartwatches- Style and Sport, both of which are stacked with Google’s latest Android Wear 2.0. Yes, the wait is finally over and Android’s latest smartwatch OS is making its market debut.
Style and sport are more or less the same with the difference of a few key features and $100 of monetary value. As the name suggests, Style is the more stylish variant and a better buy among the two smartwatches. It is slimmer and classy with a 1.2 inch display, which will be comfortable fit for most of the wrists. It also has boasts of 240 mAh battery, 1.1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 4 GB internal memory and 512 MB RAM. It has the protection of IP67 dust and water resistance and a series of wearable sensors.
However, the $249 wearable is free from a few fairly standard smartwatch features like heart rate monitor and wireless payment via NFC- a cost for being cheap, slim and stylish. But you may avail both these features by paying $100 extra for the Sport.
Sport costs $349 and is slightly larger than its counterpart. Its enhanced dust and water resistance capabilities have earned it IP68 rating. It features LTE facilitating high speed internet and calls, through the on board speaker and mike system. The internal features are very much similar to Style provided an enhanced 430 mAh battery with 1.38 inch always on display having 348 PPI pixel density.
Both these smartwatches make the best use of the features offered by Android Wear 2.0, which — in particular– enhances their navigation systems. You can read our detailed piece right here. Both these watches now also let you dial by zipping around the smartwatch’s rim, a feature which came pretty early on the Apple Watch but was awaited on Android Wear platform.
You may buy these wrist gears through BestBuy and Google Store. The Sport version however, is also made available through Google’s carrier partners AT&T and Verizon. You must check apple watch 3 pros and cons
