With Samsung being absent at this year’s Mobile World Congress, LG is hogging all the limelight. Today, the Korean hardware behemoth has shared yet another invite for its press event on February 26. This invitation further sheds light on the date, location and timing for the event, scheduled to be held in Barcelona. It also drops some serious hints about LG G6’s beautiful bezel-free display.
LG has officially started sending out press invites for its much-awaited flagship launch at MWC 2017. The LG G6 launch event will kick off at Sant Jordi Club at 12:00 p.m on February 26. The Korean company plans to officially show off the phone a day before the trade show begins. It will then display all of their devices unveiled at the event, especially the smartphone, to the public on the show floor.
In addition to event details, the event invitation (attached above) drops major hints about the screen packed within this flagship device. The company has already said that the massive 5.7-inch QHD+ display of the LG G6, with an interesting aspect ratio of 2:1 has been named ‘Full Vision.’ The invite advertises the display using the moniker which read ‘Big Screen..That Fits.’
The invite advertises the display using monikers which read ‘Big Screen..That Fits.’ The former text is written above the main screen and the latter above a rough sketch of how the main body fits in the user’s hand. The rough sketch on the right also sports circular markings on each of the corners of the device, which point towards the inclusion of elegant ’rounded edges’. This is corroborated by the image on the left, that shows off the screen with firecrackers. It also confirms leaks suggesting the same about the display.
Additionally, LG G6 has been the hottest topic of discussion in the smartphone ecosystem for the past couple of weeks. The flagship device is now being expected to pack a unibody metal construction with swappable rear panels. The G6 is also expected to leave its modular strategy behind in favor of a more robust design aesthetic. It is also expected to include thermal pipes to prevent the device from overheating, in the wake of recent Samsung Note 7 explosions. LG G6 is being touted as the first non-Pixel smartphone to bring along the uber-smart Google Assistant.
