With Mobile World Congress 2017 coming soon, all mobile companies have started sending out press invites. Joining the list is Alcatel, the smartphone brand from China’s TCL Corporation. The company has scheduled its press conference at Mobile World Congress (MWC) on February 27.

As per reports, the company is going to launch five new smartphones and one of those could be a modular device, like last year’s LG G5. The invite sent out by the company for its MWC’17 conference also hints at the release of a modular smartphone. It confirms that the TCL-brand Alcatel will be joining the likes of Samsung, Lenovo, Sony, and Nokia at MWC 2017.

The invite features the tagline that reads “Light Up.” Further, the invite also shows an image of what appears to be the rear of a smartphone covered in brightly colored LEDs. This could be the soft confirmation of the reports that Alcatel plans to launch a smartphone with colorful LEDs that glow in time with the music.

The rumor mill further suggests that one of the upcoming Alcatel modular smartphones will be equipped with a MediaTek chipset and a 13-megapixel camera on the back. The rumor also suggests that the device will cost around €320 in Europe, when it’ll be released in March or April.

With the company expecting to launch five devices, we are expecting these smartphones to cover all specs and price ranges. They will most certainly be available for purchase in Europe, but their availability in other countries is unclear at this moment.
