MSPoweuser has discovered a very interesting feature in the Cortana app for the Android. Users operating the beta version of Cortana are aware of the Microsoft’s latest feature which brings its AI assistant in prominence on the Android operating system.
By enabling the “Add Cortana to my lock screen” option, a shortcut to the app is added to the user existing lock screen; and in its present form, is accessible to anyone who handles the set, whether he know the password or not. This particular feature is identical to the one manufactured by Android for its own Camera app.
With Cortana coming in prominence, many users might just opt for it over Google Assistant. I mean it does have more of a personality. However, that is just me. Microsoft’s very own mobile operating system has not been successful enough to popularize its assistant sufficiently, therefore, it is holding up hopes with the Android.
However it appears to be a gamble for any users considering the depth of Assistant into the Android platform. However, many users with Cortana installed in their Android handsets have remained unsatisfied and are now looking for a better way to integrate their mobile device with their Windows PC.
Microsoft has announced a pretty large update to its Cortana app for both Android and iOS platforms, in the previous month. It is still uncertain if the features are planned for iOS as well, though recalling that Siri from Apple has been pretty much standing at the same place of late, it could be expected that Microsoft could be making moves with its personal assistant.
