Call of Duty: Black Ops III might actually continue to roll out fresh new content during 2017, developer Treyarch has made that suggestion. During a Facebook livestream today, studio head executive Dan Bunting stated that the 2015 first person shooter still remains largely popular so the developer might decide to put out fresh content for its yet loyal fanbase.

As was reported by CharlieIntel, Bunting said:

I cannot say anything specifically at this point in time, but I can say that as Treyarch, we are excited about this game, and as long as they continue playing our game, we’re going to continue to support it in the same way. We can look forward to another healthy and fun year of updates in 2017.

Treyarch’s own, Jason Blundell, further added that fans can definitely expect some more Zombies support, including a fancy new feature called “Newton’s Cookbook.” On the matter of new content, Blundell mentioned, “I am afraid I cannot say anything right now.

Black Ops III as of till now has received four expansion packs. Packs which wrapped up with this year’s latest, Salvation add-on. Even more upcoming content for Black Ops III would be a delightful surprise, as post-launch support for each game (Call of Duty game at least) usually ends around the time the next big title in the series launches.

Black Ops III was 2015’s best-selling game worldwide. While even considering August 2016, it still remained the highest selling current generation game(Ps3, Xbox 360), according to Activision. When it comes to the sales of the newest Call of Duty game, Infinite Warfare, the same cannot be said. Sales for Call of Duty’s latest title have declined substantially compared to Black Ops III. Activision had always anticipated the drop in sales, but no company could have expected such a precipitous drop-off in numbers.
