Ankit Nagori, who worked as a Chief Business Officer at Flipkart, and recently resigned from India’s largest eCommerce company, along with Mukesh Bansal, has now joined the Picsdream’s Board of Directors.

Picsdream is India’s first photography-centric marketplace that offers creators of photographs a portal to showcase, share and monetize their work.

In his role, Ankit Nagori will counsel the company in identifying growth opportunities by expanding their marketplace model and successfully monetizing the number of third-party sellers on its platform, says the company.

On the appointment of Ankit, Mahesh Nair, Founder and CEO, Picsdream, said,

We are very happy to welcome Ankit to our Board of Directors. His experience and expertise will be invaluable in helping us bring many required innovations to our current marketplace model. This addition to the Board comes at a time of tremendous growth for us. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface when it comes to tapping the potential of monetizing photography in India. Ankit’s involvement will be instrumental in guiding the marketplace’s product direction to better service these customers.

Founded in 2015 by Mahesh Nair, an avid professional photographer himself, Picsdream offers creators of photographs a portal to showcase, share and monetize their work.

The platform connects photographers–amateur, semi-professional and professionals alike, to users who may wish to purchase their photograph(s) and provides the users with options of canvases on which they may want it printed and delivered to their doorstep.

Ankit is an engineering graduate from IIT – Guwahati. He joined Flipkart as Manager in 2010. In his role as the Chief Business Officer of Flipkart, he was instrumental in introducing new initiatives and building a marketplace model for the company.

He recently resigned from Flipkart to start his own sports talent development firm. Ankit has been advising and investing in start-ups in his personal capacity since 2014. He said:

As a part of Picsdream’s Board, I hope to work closely with the product teams to drive strategies that help build a robust product, improve user experience and increase the contributor’s database. Picsdream is well positioned to to pave the way to disrupt the manner in which “pictures” are transacted, and I look forward to help guide the company to scale rapidly as category leaders.
