India is on the cusp of a startup revolution with many Indian startups already making their mark globally and many in the line to do so. And in order to further foster the spirit of entrepreneurship among the young generation, it is necessary that initiatives are taken right from the college level itself.
Global Entrepreneurship Summit, the flagship event of the E-cell of IIT Kharagpur is one such event which is one of the biggest entrepreneurial platforms for academicians, new-age entrepreneurs, eminent business personalities, venture capitalists and the students to gather at one place and share their entrepreneurial endeavours and experiences, and to pledge to take entrepreneurship in India to greater scales.
GES 2016 is scheduled to take place this month from 8th January to 10th January. Like its previous years, GES 2016 will witness Guest Lectures by various eminent personalities. Workshops focused on building the entrepreneurial acumen of participants are also in the pipeline by companies like Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Flipkart, Amazon Web Services, BSE, Deloitte and other such corporate giants.
Global Entrepreneurship Conference is the only such Conference on Entrepreneurship and will serve as a conclave for discussion of opportunities and programs aimed towards promoting entrepreneurship in various Universities across the world.
The conference will be followed by Connect the Dots, a discussion amongst the Entrepreneurship Cells in India about the Indian scenario and how best to go about promoting entrepreneurship in their respective campuses.
GES will also organise The Global Business Model competition, Empresario which is the only one of its kind from India and saw entries from around the country, at the close of the preliminary round in October. The finals of the competitions will be part of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit wherein the winners will get a direct entry in the semi-finals of the International Business Model Competition.
