After it recently attracted a seed round from cricketer Yuvraj Sing’s YouWeCan ventures, online beauty and wellness platform Vyomo has now grabbed an undisclosed amount from one of TaxiForSure’s founders, Aprameya Radhakrishna.
Founded by Abhinav Khare and Poonam Marwah, Vyomo is a Mobile Beauty and Wellness Platform that utilizes Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics to simplify the way beauty & wellness services are requested, offered and rendered.
The founders envisioned this platform with an aim to create a one-stop solution for Beauty Professionals to manage and grow their business through a smartphone, and customers to book appointments instantly through their mobile. In short, an Uber for beauty and wellness sector.
Talking about his maiden investment in the form of Vyomo, the excited TFS founder said,
I decided to invest in Vyomo based on the extremely focused & effective core team led by Abhinav Khare and Poonam Marwah – they have built an intuitively smooth mobile platform that is way ahead of the competition. Such a high organizational maturity is quite rare for a start-up of this phase.
Aprameya Radhakrishna, who co-founded Taxi For Sure, sold off his cab aggregating startup to a much bigger rival Ola, for a staggering $200 Million, making of one of the biggest acquisitions in India’s start-up ecosystem till date.
Vyomo, which was still under-development phase during its initial seed round, had already launched the Vyomo Mobile App for Salons, Spas and Stylistsin early May 2015. The Customer App is also being launched ahead of its schedule today. Within the first 4 weeks, Vyomo claims to have brought 1500 Salons and Spa on on-board.
Beauty and Wellness is a burgeoning market in India. According to one of KPMG’s report, this Industry in India will be US$13 billion by 2017. Moreover, within the MENA region, it was US$25.5 billion in 2014 as per a report from market intelligence firm Euromonitor International.
