We saw it coming, didn’t we ? Well, WhatsApp for desktops is finally here, but not in the usual click-download-go way. For WhatsApp to function on your PC, you need to download the Chrome Web Client announced today.

The Web Client is a simple extension of your phone: the web browser mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device — this means all of your messages still live on your phone.

However, if you are an iOS user, there’s nothing in store for you as of now, and you should rather spend time reading our comprehensive Windows 10 event coverage. Why do I say so ? Well this is because WhatsApp web client is coming to iOS users due to certain ‘Apple Platform Limitations’.

For the non-iOS users, you can easily  connect your web browser to your WhatsApp client by heading to https://web.whatsapp.com in your Google Chrome browser. You will see a QR code — scan the code inside of WhatsApp, and you’re ready to go. You have now paired WhatsApp on your phone with the WhatsApp web client.

However, do note that your phone needs to stay connected to the internet for our web client to work, and please make sure to install the latest version of WhatsApp on your phone.
